Hello Friends,
I was pretty busy for the past 11 days both work vise and socially.
Work is routine and of no interest to you guys, so I shall share my social happenings.
On 23rd July, I was invited by very dear friends for a dinner get-together at the MASALA ART in Needham at about 7pm.So we saw the 3.15 show of KHATTA MEETHA in the Freshpond Theater in Cambridge and went on to Needham. Contrary to the bad reviews of the film, it was a very interesting film- a satire on the bureaucracy in India. Akshay Kumar absolutely lived his part.
Anyways, after the film we went to Masala Art. We were approximately about 20 people and the company was excellent, totally matching the ambiance and the food in the restaurant. I got a great tip from a friend who has lost almost 70lbs within a span of about 9 months. Besides the usual drill of avoiding carbohydrates, exercising, reducing or ideally giving up alcohol intake etc; she told me that she has given up salt altogether, as there is enough sodium in most foods. Indeed, by just abstaining from salt only, one can lose up to 10lbs in a month’s time. Am I doing the same? Of course not! But it IS easier to preach so that’s what I am doing.
On 24th July I saw a beautiful Arangetram performance of a friend’s daughter. It was fantastic. As I saw the lovely girl ( Lekha) change expressions like a chameleon, I was moved to tears by the sheer purity of her flawless performance.
On 25th, it was my husband Anil’s birthday. So in the morning we visited the Chinmaya Mission Temple to seek the Lord’s blessings and then went to Boston where our son treated us to a nice birthday lunch (Not bad eh, it was Anil’s birthday bur I was getting the treat too) followed by the Angelina Joli starrer SALT. I loved the film.
On 30th we went to a nice party in my neighborhood and on 31st, we took off for New York. We returned last night. All in all, it was a busy but fun filled fortnight.
The coming weekend too looks busy. We shall be attending an engagement function in New Jersey. Once again there will be good food, good music and undoubtedly some dancing. Best of all, you get to hang out with your family which in simple words is BLISSFUL.
On Friday AISHA is releasing starring SONAM KAPOOR and ABHAY DEOL. Both of them are good actors and I am looking forward to it. Perhaps you have already noticed that I am an absolute movie buff; have been so since perhaps the age of 7 when my father took my sister and I for almost every film. Our mom accompanied us only for a block buster.
So that’s that for this week. Talk to you again soon .Stay Healthy and Happy.
